We don't need no stinkin' markers or color pencils!
Day 8 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's now the start of the new week. So I wanted to share with you something that I have done in the past just to mix up my mediums and get a different effect. You don't always need to use Markers, Pens, Pencils or crayons for coloring. How about Novu Crystal Drops?
That's exactly what we have here today. I used the rose from the Flowers In Bloom Stamp Set from Craftin Desert Divas. I love this set because it has several different flowers.
You will also need Nuvo Crystal Drops to fill in your image. Below are the three which I chose. You will also need a pin of any kind.
First I started off with the Carnation Pink to fill in sections of the flower little by little. Using a pin i move the drops around to get it as close to the black line as possible without going over. Since this medium is not something you can shade with, you will need the eye to help break up the sections. I then added a few areas of Bubble Gum Blush as a small detail on top of the darker pink. It's very subtle.
Once you have finished filling in your rose, you are now ready to fill in the leaves. For this I spread a very thin layer of the Apple Green Drops so that I can fill in the whole image with the lines showing through. If you want you can use the pin to remove the drops from the black lines just for more definition.
Finally you will want to let your image dry a full 24 ours before you cut it out and use it on your card. It does take a bit of time, but it's perfect if you want to add something with some shine. Sometimes we have to think of other ways to color in order to make our piece look more interesting. Who knew you could use Nuvo Drops.
I do hope that you have enjoyed this small post. I will see you next time. Don't forget to comment. :)
