Hi everyone!  Welcome back for another edition of how-to's from Heartcraftpaper.  Being as it's fall I figured I would make a latte card!  It's the one time of the year that I can drink up everything with cinnamon and nutmeg.  Mmmmm!

So this is a quick and easy card to make.  Below are the supplies you will need.

  • A Little Latte SVG (link below)
  • Fall Splendor Digital Paper Pack (link below)
  • Sentiment from the Spice of Life (link below)
  • White cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • A2 cardbase
  • Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide
  • Pattern Stencil
  • Coffee themed washi tape
  • Fall color sequins
  • Foam squares
  • Foam mounting tape
  • Liquid glue
  • 1/8" score tape
  • Die cutting machine

Easy Peasy!

For this project I used the "A Little Latte" SVG file to pint and cute the image.  I used a pattern paper from the Fall Splendor pack for the latte cup base.  This is one the things that I like to do when using my Cricut because it allows for so much variety rather than just plain paper.   I also used the sentiment from the Spice Of Life digital image set.   I used foam squares to add some height along the rim of the latte top, under the pumpkin, and under the sentiment.

Below is how the final pieced together latte should look.

I decided I wanted to go with a clean an and simple card which meant I would be leaving more white space than anything.  To add a bit of color I stenciled in a Moroccan motif using Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide on my white cardstock.  I blended the color from the center outwards.

I had recently purchased a latte coffee themed wash and decided that it would fit perfect with the theme as well as add some more color to my card.  I simply cut the washi at an angle and ran it across the bottom of my card base.

Next I used score tape to adhere this to adhere my cardstock to the A2 card base.  I used a simple hack of just exposing two opposite corners to  make sure I place the cardstock where I want it before actually adhering it down.

Time to  glue down our latte to the card using Foam Tape.  Note that I placed the image slight off kilter.  I went with foam mounting tape because I wanted very little height, since I already used foam squares on the latte itself.

Finally I added a touch of sparkle with sequins in a fall coloring.  I had made this mixture a while back and it fit perfectly.

There you have it.  A simple card, quick and easy.  This is something that can be made in mass and sent out to all of your loved ones.

Hope that you have found this post inspiring.  If so share your HCP projects with us in the HeartcraftPaper Gallery on Facebook.  We would love to have you join.
