Some times you just want to say, "You're Fabulous!"

Hi Everyone and welcome back! Today I'm sharing this cutie with you all. I had a ton of fun making this one. Just be aware, I make boo-boos every so often and I'm not perfect, please see that I mistakenly put my base paper sideways... Either way it's still a lovely card. :P

Included you will find that there is a video tutorial for the coloring of this precious ballerina by Digi Doodles Studios. If you like this video, then subscribe for more as I make them.

These are the items you will need:
  • Image: Sylvie Ballerina by Digi Doodles Studios printed at 3" wide
  • Copic Markers (listed in the video below)
  • Prismacolor color pencils (listed in the video below)
  • White Card Base 5" X 5"
  • Pink printed paper 5" X 5" (MFT Tiny Hearts Pastel)
  • Black cardstock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • Spellbinder Nestabilities dies: (retired)
  • Floral filigree dies of any sort
  • Tiny Type sentiments (Clearly Besotted)
  • Die-namics Blueprint Dies 31 (MFT)
  • Versa Mark
  • Black Embossing Powder
  • Black Novu Crystal Drops (CDD)

Step 1:  Coloring in your image

Watch the video below to learn what colors and how to fill in your image.

Step 2: Cutting out your image.

Now that you have your image all colored in, you are ready to cut her out.  For this particular card I did not wish to fussy cut my image.  I wanted her to be in a shaped cut out.  I used the largest of my Nestabilities die to cut out my image.

Step 3: Making a base for your image

Using the same die, I traced the outside edge of the die and cut it out along the tracing.  As you can see it's about a 1/8" distance from the actual cut line to the outer edge.  This is a nice little tip when you want to make a backdrop for you die cut but don't have dies that stack up from one size to the next.
Once you have it cut out.  Turn it over so that the pencil line does not show and glue your image on top leaving you with a nice black edging to your image.  Isn't that a neat little trick?!

Step 4: Cut out your printed background

So I found this cute paper from MFT and it is just the perfect color and print for this Sylvie .  It has these wonderful little hearts that I just love (even if I did make a boo-boo).  Trim this down to 5" x 5" and blue down to your white card base (which is  5" x 5" as well).

Step 5: Lets add character

I didn't want to just leave my image all on it's own.  I figured that it needed just a little more character to the card.  I decided to use this cute little flower die set (which I got off of E bay and is probably from china).  Feel free to use any floral embellishment you want around the card where there is the most black space.  I decided on the upper right and lower left corners.

Step 6: Get Sentimental

Now it's time to get a little sentimental.  I settled for this cute Tiny Type from Clearly besotted because the dies which I used were very thin and this fit perfectly.  I used the Blueprint Dies 31 from MFT and found these two which were the perfect size for my card.  I used the smaller of the two to cut out my light pink cardstock and black for the other.  Using Versa Mark, head emboss your sentiment with black powder.  Once that is done you can glue down the pink centered onto the black die cut.

Step 7: If your image a lift.

Now you will want to figure placement.  I first glued down my sentiment about 1/4" from the bottom edge in the center.  Using foam 1/8" think I glued that to the back of my image and then glued the whole thing down to my card base.  It is about 1/4" from the black edging of my image to the top edge of my card base.  We are almost done!!!

Step 8: The Final Touch

I felt that this needed a little something extra.  As a final touch I added in some small embellishments using black Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Thank goodness for Nuvo.  I don't think I would know what to do with myself if I didn't have them!

And Viola!  You card is done.
