A warm, rainy day-this is how it feels when friends get together. Friend refreshes friend then, as flowers do each others, in a spring rain.

Spring is here!

Picture
So today is the first day of spring and this is the time of year I celebrate with my husband the Persian New Year!  We bring beauty to the house with fresh grown grass and hyacinths.  We decorate eggs in elaborate detail.  Best of all we EAT!  I always love Persian celebrations because of the wonderful foods.  This inspired me to design today's card.  I wanted something that really said SPRING.

I found this cute digital image on Etsy, by StarJamLines and it was exactly what I was looking for. It's called Baby Rabbit.  Fits it perfectly.  Link below.

Picture
  • Baby Rabbit Digital Image (3 in tall)
  • Copic Markers
  • Scalloped Oval Die
  • White Cardstock (4 in x 5.25 in)
  • Green Cardstock (4.25 in x 5.5 in)
  • A2 Card Base
  • Embossing Folder
  • Glue
  • Double Sided Tape
  • 3 mm Green Eyelet
  • cropodile
  • Green Twine
  • 3 Paper Flowers

Let's Get Springy!

Normally I go step by step with the coloring, but today I will be proving you a list to make it short and sweet.  Don't forget...you can click on each image to make them larger for a better view.
Picture
Bunny Body: E23, E30, E33
Cheeks:  E93
Bunny Ears & Doll: R000, R30, R32
Sky: B0000
Grass: YG61, YG63, YG67
 Pink Flowers: R81, R83
Purple Flowers: V01, V04
Blue Flowers: B42, B43
Once all of coloring is done I trimmed the image with a scalloped oval dies.  I used the third from the smallest dies so that my image fit perfectly in the center.

I then trimmed out a piece of white cardstock to 4" x 5.25".  Using a swirl or lacy type of patterned embossing folder, I passed it through my machine to add some texture to my card.
Now that the embossing is done its time to glue it down to the green cardstock cut to A2.  For this part, I like to use liquid glue since it will fill into the grooves of the embossing as well.

Using a Cropodile, I pierced the both pieces in the left corner about 1" from the bottom of the card and then pressing in an eyelet.  Using a length of twine, I criss-crossed the twine so that the two ends would be at the bottom to allow me to pull them through the eyelet.

Once pulled through I made sure that the center part of the intersecting twine was within my knot.   I tied a simple bow and then adhered it all to the card base with double sided tape.

Hack!

I used double sided foam to mount the image to the center of my card, over top of the twine.  I did it in such a way that the bow was left to the side of my image.

All that is left are the accent pieces.  I used medium zots to glue down three paper roses around the image, placing two in the upper right and one on the bow.  Finally I made a small .25" fishtail banner and wrote out "hello spring" as the sentiment.  This I glued in such a way that it was at the bottom of the image with the edge just under the flower.

Here is the final outcome!  I loved the bits of green.  When I think of spring I imagine green and blooms everywhere.

I hope that you have enjoyed this make.   Give it a try and see how your card turns out.  Don't forget to share!  Blog InLinkz below!  Let's grow.

Your art project turned out so pretty. I like the flower and string embellishments you added. Visiting from Thursday Favorite Things.
