 Shake,shake,shake!  Shake,shake,shake!
Shake your Booty!

Hi everyone!  Welcome back and for those of you that are new to this site, just a friendly welcome!

Today I am working with the Party Speech Bubble SVG files that are in the shop.  I wanted to make a birthday card for a friend and decided I wanted an interactive element to the card.  I figured that I would make it a shaker card.  Nothing better than glitter and shine for a birthday celebration, right?!

Below are the items you will need.
Picture
  • Party Speech Bubbles SVG
  • A2 card base
  • white cardstock  5 1/2" x 4 1/4'
  • Black cardstock
  • Transparency film
  • 1/8" Double sided tape
  • Mounting tape
  • 1/8" washi (I found mine at Michael's)
  • Shaker Elements (glitter shapes)
  • Scalloped rectangle die

Let's get this party rollin'!

I began by cutting out the Happy B-Day speech bubble in black cardstock using my Cricut.  Using the same file used the contour feature in Cricut to make a solid cut of the speech bubble out of the transparency film.

And don't toss out the letters or the little bits in the center of your A, P, B or D.  You might want to keep a hold of those.

Next Add 1/8" double sided tape to the back of the speech bubble and adhere the transparency film.

Now you will need to use those letters and small bits that you set aside.  place the letters back into their corresponding place (not glue or tape please).  Add double sided tape to those letter centers and line them back up with the space in the letter.  Example below shows P.   Set aside once completed.

Now we will work on the backing for the speech bubble.  I had been in Michael's recently and found this wonderful and sparkly holographic washi tape and decided that I would use the haul for this card.  I spaced out my washi tape evenly across the upper third and lower third of my white cardstock.  As you can see i allowed for the washi tape to go over the edges.

Using the scalloped rectangle die, I cut out the cardstock and washi making sure to keep it with in the frame.  Next added mounting tape to the back (just don't peel it off yet, I got a little ahead of myself here).

Next trim down mounting tape to be able to line the outer side of the speech bubble.   Put your shaker elements in the center of the card and place the speech bubble over it.  Test it out and give it a good shake!

All that is left is to adhere the whole thing to the card base!  (now you can remove the backing from the mounting tape)
