Happy Galentine's Day All!

This weekend I went to my final February craft event.  As always, a bunch of gals having fun and crafting, eating food, drinking tea and trading crafts.  It can't get any better than this!

This time around, we were asked to make an advent.  It consisted of a shoe box/picture box filled with seven Valentine themed items (seven because our event is 2/8 as day one and ending on the 2/14).
  1. Socks
  2. Hand Made Tassel
  3. Valentine Theme Cup/Mug
  4. Hand Made Banner
  5. Stickers
  6. Memory Dex
  7. Chocolate

I started by decorating my box.  I didn't think that a plain white box would be enough.  Always the crafter, I have to bedazzle everything.

I had found some cute paper at Joann Fabrics that had donuts, candies and ice cream on it.  I figured I would continue with the donut theme.
I found a lovely image in Design Space that fit the theme perfectly for Valentine's Day.  It's a cookie and donuts with the sentiment, "Donut ever leave."  How cute is that?!  I used washi tape, brown card stock, ribbon and paper flowers to decorate it.  Along with each item we had to box it, decorate the boxing and label each item for the day.

Item 1. Socks.  I purchased some valentines day themed socks and wrapped them up in an envelop card.  Once again this was found on design space.  I made a cute belly band and a heart die cut.  The embellishment was thanks to the previous craft event, a bow with a flower on a clip.

Item 2. Hand Made Tassel.  This was a little more tricky for me because I did'n't really know what I wanted to make.  I didn't want something that was too bulky, like yarn, so I used baker's twine to make this.  I have some twin that had pink, red and white in it, which was perfect for Valentine's Day.  I embellished it with some charms and a button.  I boxed it up in this cute little top load envelope that ties at the back.  I made a bow using my envelope punch.  this paper I had purchased from Michael's a few years back and have almost used the whole pack.

Item 3. Valentine Themed glass/mug.  For this item I purchases a melamine shaker cup with heart confetti in the cup.  For the box, I decided on a hexagon box.  I found this little treat in Design Space as well.  it is an exploding hex box.  I let the pink paper with pink embossed hearts do more of the talking than adding too many embellishments.  The box will bloom open once the tulle bow is removed.

Item 4. Hand Made Banner.  Here you see that I have a cute little banner that is for hanging in a window, on a wall, wherever you would like.  I once gain turned to my Cricut.  I used a lattice pennant with heart embellishments in different colors and this cute little fox from Hand Mek (Etsy).  I placed it in a top loading envelope and added some simple 3D stickers for a little Valentine's Day Fun.

Item 5.  Valentines Day Themed Stickers.  I went and purchased some really cute stickers for this. I didn't have much time to make my own, but I did use an envelop box to wrap them up in.  once again the paper itself sets it off.  embellished with a tag that I had received from a trade, a heart shaped button and heart printed ribbon.
Item 6.  Memory Dex.  This little cutie was something that I pulled out of Design Space.  They have these wonderful recipe cards that have different tabs for the top.  I used the print and cut feature for this as I imported my own digital paper.  I found a cute heart camera with a heart piece in the lens that I embellished with a heart shaped rhinestone piece.  it's fairly simple but the contrasting papers, images and embellishments really make it pop.  I used a sliding box for this wrap.

Item 7.  Chocolate.  This one was totally easy.  I wrapped up a Hershey's Kiss in red tissue paper to match the bow I made using an envelop punch pard.  I embellished this with washi tape.  It was pretty simple.
As with most any of the events I go do.  I try to take some goodies to all the girls in attendance.  This time around I made a cute candy box in red cardstock and decorated it with printed Valentine's Day themed printed paper.  I used an organza ribbon on the ends and made this tiny little 2 x 2 1/2 in. envelope, embellished with rickrack and a small crystal.  I inserted a sentiment, "Be My Valentine" from Ms. Kate's Cuttables.

In each box I added some chocolate, a jumbo ribbon embellished paper clip, a bejeweled safety pin and some red and heart shaped buttons.  This will be a nice little treat for anyone to use as a decoration, a tag or in a craft.

As always, below I have listed some of the items I used in my crafts.  You may find you like some of what I used and wish to find a great price.  I hope that you have enjoyed this post.  I know I had a ton of fun. Here are some pics from the event for you to enjoy!
