It's Summer!!!!!When I think of summer, the first thing that pops into my head is the idea of cold crisp watermelon slices during the heat to cool you down. At least that is what I was thinking of when I made drew out this image. My favorite time of the year is the summer. I have so many fond memories of the beach and vacationing and thought that I would share a little something from those days with you. Why? Because you are One In A Melon! Okay bad pun, but either way you will find the supplies you need to make this quick and easy card below.
Summer Coloring Fun!The one thing I will say about this card is that it's such a simple and fun card to make. even though It looks like only three colors I actually used a total of 11 colors! Watermelon flesh: R34, R14, R35, R29 Watermelon rind: YG11, YG13, YG05, YG17 Watermelon seeds: C6, C9, C10 Stick: E31, E35, E17 Lets make our slice! Here you see that I already have all my items set out an prepared for making. I used the Hello Summer digital paper pack for my printed squares. I cut then so that the One In A Melon print measures 5" x 3 3/4". The small of the two I used the light blue water color pint and cut it down to 3 3/4" x 2 1/2". We will glue down all of our rectangle pieces to our card base. Here you see how the final base will look. I didn't add any height to the base pieces because I planned to ad dimension to the watermelon and sentiment pieces. For a final touch I added Nuvo Dots to to the upper right of the light blue printed card stock. I didn't want to add too much more, but that did draw the eye over to the melon pop. It also helped that I created a break in the pattern paper by using a more solid print. Fini!I do hope that you enjoyed this simple yet fun card! It's perfect for the summer time and to send off to someone you think is special. I do hope you come back to visit. XOXO...HeartcraftPaper P.S. Don't forget to participate in our Challenge!
