Summer if filled with sunshine and waves!
Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting. Today StarStamps has a new image out. I'm so excited to share with you the newest image...Beach Days! This is a super cute little girl out on the beach have fun in the waves. This so reminds of my time growing up along the California coast.
For this post I wanted to make something a little bit different. I decided on making a gift tag. I think this would be a lovely gift wrapping embellishment. Below are the supplies you will need to make this adorable tag.
Let the sunshine begin!
Wow! this little image had a ton of color. With the image colored, I fussy cut around the image and set it aside. To start the base of my tag I used a the 3.25" x 5" tag die from Tutti Design. I cut out two pieces of white cardstock. Using one of the tags I blended in Worn Lipstick on the top and Squeezed Lemonade on the bottom. I then glued my second tag onto the back of the first. This will help cover up any coloring that may have transferred during my blending.
Next I too a three inch strip of black cardstock and die cut it using the Diagonal Stripe Collage die. The diagonals will cut out but you will have to hand cut a 1/4" border all around.
This cut will then be adhered to the left side of the tag using liquid glue. I left about a 1/2" border to the left. I love the peek-a-boo effect this die gives.
To adhere this to the tag you will need 1/8" double sided tape. Lay a strip down the the remaining left edge. You will then adhere the binding to it in a pleating fashion.
In order to add in some bling I had decided to use a gold foil on this card. I did this by cutting a rectangle of toner paper and gluing it down to a piece of white cardstock. The reason behind this is so that when I pass this through the machine it will have more of a stressed look to it. I used a hello sentiment die to make a cut at this point. I was going to also add a chevron, but decided against it since it would be too much added to the card already.
I used this beautiful gold deco foil. I placed my hello die cut out down, face up. Then i layered on the foil with the shinny side up, layered it with my foil protectant sheet and passed it through the Minc machine (or laminator).
How that we have the sentiment ready, We will punch a hole at the top of the tag and crimp a 1/8" eyelet into place. I chose a cute pink color for this.
Using aqua color twine I looped this into the eyelet and pulled the loose ends through the loop.
In order to add a big more bling to this I used my tweezers to poke three holes about a 1/2: apart from one another on the right side of the tag. I then placed a brad in each of the holes.
I decided to go back and make a billie bow. This is made with twine. Wrap twine around two fingers and then die them off and separate the twine so that it creates a butterfly effect.
Lastly we will add our image and sentiment to the tag by using foam tape. The image wad adhered to the lower right of the tag and the sentiment just above.
This is what the tag will look like once complete!
