It's bound to be happy hour somewhere, so why not enjoy it anyways!
Welcome back! I hope you're ready for a fun little project. As of late I have been into making Memory Dex cards. Many of you are familiar with the Rolodex filing system. Well take that and add crafting to it. That's were you come up with Memory Dex. A filing system for keeping memories that was popularized by Heidi Swapp. Not only is it used for memory keeping but a way to give and receive cute crafty items that can be stored.
Image all of your crafty friends handing handing you one of these little tags with all their info on the back so you can easily contact them or follow their social media. It's perfect! For this craft I used Adell Happy Hour as my image. I also made some some memory dex card svg files.
Ready. Set. Craft!
Next, I added color to my die cuts. Using Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide, I created am ombre effect on my white dex card. Using Vintage Photo Distress Ink I brushed some color along the edges of the sand pieces. I used Mowed lawn for the edges of the palm leaves, Twisted Citron for the grass and Wild Honey for sentiment layer. (Click on the images to enlarge.)
Using double sided foam tape I began to adhere my sand bar. I left a little space at the top to adhere my palm tree.
Using Liquid glue I adhered the leaves and grass to the palm tree. This gave my items some much needed color. It matched well with my image that i colored in with pink and greens.
After adding all of my palm tree pieces I used liquid glue to adhere the palm tree behind the sandbar so that it hid a bit of the bottom of the tree.
For the Sentiment I used a 1/2" foam dot and some 1/4" squares to add to the back of my sentiment piece so I can attached it to the second layer which is the golden yellow background.
Once I have my sentiment ready, I used one layer of foam tape in the center and two layers at the top of the sentiment. This is because I will glue down the buttom portion to the sand smaller sand bar, the single layer on the taller sand bar and the double layer on the dex card. This will give make it even.
Finally onto the image. With double sided foam tape I added a single layer to the upper portion of the image. I used liquid glue on the very bottom and adhered the image to the right of the palm tree.
I decided on adding some sequins to the dex card in order to add some bling. I used Zot Dots to adhere them down.
Done! This is what it all looked like in the end! A cute Memory Dex card that anyone would love to have. A summer picture can be added to the back too!
