It's getting cold out there!
Okay...so maybe I like in California where the weather doesn't tend to drop very low like in some states, but that doesn't mean that I don't get cold at times. Especially on a day like today, when the wind is blowing me over and rolling me down the street. These are the days that are perfect for crocheting!
Your probably wondering how I came to this topic, but little fact about me...I love ALL types of crafts. Growing up I was constantly around my grandma and aunts who all knew a craft trade. They were always making something to sell, be it sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidering, or making flowers out of bread dough. I learned from them all that I could. Of course one of them was crocheting. As the weather has been getting colder of late, my daughter is always complaining of the cold. So I decided to start by making her a hat.
I ran across a vendor on Etsy and found this cute and SIMPLE crochet pattern. It's so easy that any level can make this. The shop is called Frenchie and she has several patterns available, but this one called to me because of the cute ear shape and it sort of reminded me of Hello Kitty. Also, it has a cute waffle pattern to it. I'm so in love! I have to make another one soon.

Once I learned how to make the waffle pattern I decided to make a scowl for my dog. Duh! He's my baby. It was only natural for me to follow up with this. This one was something I kind of threw together since I had left overs yarn from my daughter's hat. I used these overly large wooden buttons to give it a cute accent. And yes I do dress my dog. That's something for another time though.
I got so into the crochet weather, that I even made some crochet hearts that were perfect for a rustic banner I made for the month of LOVE. Now for this particular pattern I found a YouTube video for the pattern. Once I made the first one I kind of just pumped them out.
That has been my crafting adventure so far. I hope to also finish up a gingham pattern throw sometime soon. Hope you enjoyed the read. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube. Hope to see you back here again.
