Boo!!! Did I scare you?Welcome! Welcome! Welcome! Halloween is almost here. Are you ready? I know that I am preparing all of my greeting cards. and this month we have several amazing images, digital paper packs and SVG files in store for you. Because of the season I had decided that I would create this wonderful little BOO! card! I wanted to have something that everyone can make, add their own touch to and quick to make. Below is the supply list for making of this card.
It's Just A Little Eerie! To begin, I pulled the BOO SVG file into design space (works with SCAL and other Die cutting programs) and resized this file to 5 1/4" w x 4" l. Since the card pulls in as a group it is easy to resize to make all items cut perfectly for an A2 card size. It you wanted to go bigger you can also do that (Ahh! The beauty of SVG files!). I started working with the spiral leafy cuts from the BOO sentiment. I used green cardstock for the leave and orange for the sentiment. I began by gluing down the leaves because they were so small I didn't want to loose any of them. I then set this all aside for later. I used Carved pumpkin to blend some color along the edges of my white cardstock (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). Since I am planning to glue down the scalloped piece down to the center of the card front, I did not need to fill in the center with color. All that was left was to adhere the scalloped piece down. Moving right along here I used Picket Fence Distress Ink and Black Soot I blended around the edges to give it more of a haunted and old feeling to the paper. You could also distress the edges if you would like. Once completed I glued it down to the center of my card front. Next I pieced together my ghost. Not that there is much to it since there is the front and back panel to the ghost. I glued it to the upper right hand corner of the card front to leave space for my sentiment. Now because I took the time to get my O's put together a head of time it will make placement of my sentiment that much easier. Again I used tacky glue to set this in place along the bottom portion of my card. I then finished this off with some apple green Nuvo Drops and sequin embellishments. Here you have the finished piece. A simple, easy and quick card to make for the all of your friends and family! Hope to see you back again for another inspirational piece and great ideas for card making!
