No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist. Art truly is the best therapy. Expression of one's self.
Let's Get Crafty!
As always, I begin with my coloring. This for me is the most time consuming part of the whole process, mostly because I like to pay close attention to shading. I tried to match my image to the color palette of the supporting background.
To begin, i started assembly of my die cuts since there were so many small pieces. i began with the paint brush. i added first the metal part of the brush and then the blue paint to the tip.
I found an adorable painters palette in design space. This piece came in multiple layers to show the color underneath in a peekaboo fashion. I also used this to display my sentiment. I also cut out a ric-rac piece the length of the card as a bottom border.
Now that all the accent pieces are cut, I'm ready to place my card background piece onto my 5.5" x 5.5" card base. You can find these at Michael's. I have also attached below a tape hack for double sided tape.
Using liquid glue, I attached the rainbow piece to the upper left. I did not want to add height to this piece so that it would would act as a background piece. Next I set down the ric-rac at the bottom about 1 1/2" from the left so that it hangs over the edge. I didn't want it to peek out on the other side.
I wanted to give the image some height and used foam tape to adhere it to the left side of the card. I added foam tape as well to the palette to bring it to the same level of the image but to attach to the right of the image. It should overlap slightly.
Finally, I attached the brush. I used doubled up foam tape on the brush tip and then liquid blue along the brush. I did this to bring the brush up to the same height and setting it left of the sentiment on top of the palette.
FIni! This is what the final product looks like. This was a ton of fun to make. I love all the color and happiness. A little something to bright out days during this time of Stay Home Stay Safe.
